The Castle

Due to technical difficulties we recently had to purchase a new computer. Said computer came with a box and that box was deemed the "imagination box" by Mark. The stuff inside the box became...

Mark and Eric's castle.

I love when I see as simply trash becomes something more through the magic of their (very active) imaginations!

So um, Creative

A few weeks ago, the boys were playing quietly in our living room and I was distracted by something else. I went to check on them and found...

Then, after a quick look around the room, I saw this...

When questioned about why they were doing this I was told that the white walls were "boooooooo-wing" and they were making them colorful. My little interior designers!

Bats!!

One of the moms at CubScouts had this template for an easy craft project to make bats. I love easy stuff so we made them at home for Halloween.

Eric's was green (favorite color)

Mark went more traditional and made his black.

Happy Halloween!!!

Eric

This came home in Eric's backpack this week. I love this stuff they do at school.

Zachary

I've been taking Zack and Ben to this little class at our town's community center. They love it and there are stories, songs, and always a little craft. Today the theme was Noah's Ark and they did these little foam arks. Zack peeled the sticker backs off and placed the animals himself. I was impressed at how the animals were in fairly straight lines.

The coloring also interested me because he's so far only scribbled. This was a first attempt at actually coloring the images. I was pretty excited about it. Yes, I'm easily impressed!

Big Green Monster - by Mark

He came home missing an eye, but I LOVE this project Mark brought home from school!

Monday 10-20-08

The kids were out of school on Monday and they did some coloring and cutting. Pictures of houses are a favorite these days, Eric added lots of color to his!
Mark's smaller house & him driving a car.
I think this blog has been funny because now they are drawing like crazy and asking "are you going to put this in the blog? Can you put this in the Artsy Craftsy blog?" It makes me giggle because something about 5 & 6 year olds saying blog just makes me laugh.

Pine Cone Guys

We did these on our campout this weekend. Here are the projects with their creators. Thanks to my good friend Shanna for the idea & bringing the glue to put these together. So much fun! For more camping pictures and fun please go over to Life With Boys!

Ben

This was actually a paper Mark did at school, but posting it to show that Ben is starting to enjoy coloring too. Unfortunately, sometimes he gets ahold of something we'd rather he not color.

Eric Fall/Halloween School Work

Eric's scarecrow he made at school. In PreK and even Kindergarten I don't think he could have done this. He always struggled with cutting and his coloring was basically scribbling. Also, I love the use of color, since before he would only color things all GREEN. This little guy shows so much progress for my little guy.

Just a halloween picture he colored at school. Again, major progress with 1. completion in allotted time, as well as following instructions! I wish I had started this last year so everyone could see the difference and improvement in motor skills. I am so happy and relieved!

Fall Leaves

I ordered this fall leaf project from Oriental Trading Company. I thought it was supposed to come with some tissue paper or something, but it turned out that it did not. Or at the very least, I didn't get it. So the boys colored paper at random, we glued on the leaf and cut out the excess. So, here are their leaves. They had so much fun doing these and we have tons more since the kit had 24 leaves included.

The heart was an add on made by Eric.

These will stay on the wall awhile. Until after Thanksgiving and time to decorate for Christmas, or until the boys decide to pull them down. We'll see which comes first.

Mark

Mark is my most prolific artist. He has a real love for drawing, coloring, and creating. Here are two recent "works."

Our House

Buried

I am already getting buried. Buried with papers the kids bring home from school. Buried with guilt everytime I throw one of their masterpieces away.

I made a decision just recently to keep their very special pieces in a folder so I can have a sampling of their artwork and school work for the year in hard copy form. However, I struggle because I can't keep it all, but they don't want to lose it. This blog is a compromise.

I won't be writing daily as on my
other blog, however posting scans of all the artwork we do. And it's lots :)
